Airtel Unveils New Logo

Old vs. New
Airtel has started off with its adverts for its 3G services, which however have not been rolled out yet. But, Airtel has unveiled a new logo a couple of days ago. Airtel says that it is part of the re-branding. The new logo will be for India as well as overseas.

Airtel has also crossed the 200 million subscriber mark with 150 million Indian subscribers, 4 million African Subscribers and the rest being from Bangladesh and Sri Lanka. The new Airtel logo claims to give the brand a more "youthful & international" look.

"Today as we expand on the global stage, this new brand identity gives us the opportunity to present a single powerful and unified face to our customers, stakeholders and partners around the world," Bharti Airtel chairman and managing director Sunil Bharti Mittal said.

The 3G services will be launched in India within the end of year. Airtel hopes that 3G users will be quite a lot in number in India. The first beta video call on Airtel 3G was done and Mr.Mittal has said that he hopes to see some improvement.

P.S. : Doesn't the new Airtel logo look a bit similar to the Videocon logo? Check out people's reaction on the new logo in Twitter :)
